In November 2017, Gaise Baba organized and led a team of fellow artistes and musicians to his alma mater – King’s College Lagos, putting together a concert and leveraging the excitement to offer counsel and mentorship to the students. This was the beginning of what is now the LightOut movement across high schools and colleges all over his country Nigeria.
A musical outreach and concert experience employing music and art as vehicles for social impact, teen advocacy and youth mentorship, the LightOut High School movement has so far organized editions in schools like Greensprings School, Queen’s College, Federal Science & Technical College, Oxbridge Sixth Form College, Dansol School and Babcock University High School, so far reaching over 15,000 teenage & preteen students.
